A Sweet Surprise
I am taking a hiatus from my blog. While it is a mixture of things I love for the world to see, it is no longer a priority. My priorities have clearly been laid out for me by our Father. In order to do the works that have been laid before me, I cannot consume an ounce of time with things of the world that are not of Him. He gave me the gift of my family, my church, my friends, my education and so much more and they will now and forever be used to honor Him. I ask that anyone who reads this, send a prayer up that I remain focused on the works he has for me now. I also pray that in your daily life you find the focus that God intends for you to have. We too easily get caught up in a virtual world, when we have such a beautiful, real one to live. There are many, many beautiful blogs out there to visit for stunning craftiness and stellar ideas. I do hope that you will continue to take advantage of the freebies in my Shoppe...button to the right.
I will return, in God's time. Until then, please feel free to comment or e-mail me anytime. You will still be able to find me regularly at www.onthelap.org which I will contribute to for the purpose of education.
Graciously,
Aimee
Free Vintage Paper Dolls
Paper Dolls are so awesome and I remember when I was about 2 years old. My grandmother had given a present for my birthday and it had paper dolls all over the wrapping paper. I was more excited about those paper dolls than I was about the present. Some 25 years later I was helping her clean out her attic and ran across a partial roll of that wrapping paper.
So, I took it home with me and kept it hidden in with my other wrapping papers. Now, I know that wrapping paper is at least 30 years old or better but it is still just as charming as it was then.
I decided to scan the images and crop them so that other little girls can have their own little paper doll collection. They are a lost toy that we should all be able to play with. I wish I knew the maker of this paper but that part of the wrapping paper was damaged and what I could see didn't have a maker. So, I assume that the artist that drew these images has been well paid for them and would love for them to be shared. I'm going to ask that anyone that uses these or copies them does so freely and with out any monetary gain. They are too precious! Click Here for the PDF
German Schultutes: A Back to School Gift
Many schools are back in session today all over the country. In my area, they started almost a month ago. A few years ago I made this German Schultute for my oldest. I was so proud of him and wanted his first grade year to be a success and off to the right start.
Last year, the little brothers and I made this much larger Schultute for him. This time I included my instruction for make them. So, click the link and go make your own. It's a nice gift for back to school and can truly be given anytime of the year. Sometimes kids need a nice pick me up too. I'm praying for all teachers, children and parents as school years for many are getting started.
