The boys and I had fun today in the front yard.  I laid out with a book on a blanket while they rode their bikes.

I'm the crazy mom that lets her children play in the front yard in their T-Shirt and Lightin' McQueen undies, apparently!

It was hard getting a picture of CoopMan!  He was riding so FAST most of the time!

Jumpstart: Read for the Record "The Very Hungry Caterpiller" Updated

I am so excited I can barely contain myself.  It's been a long week and my eyes can't focus from all the studying and book reading I've done so I hope this all comes out right.  Here's what I'm so excited about...On October 8th there's going to be something fun going on.  Something you can do too.  I just received this e-mail from Eric Carle and I want you to pass this information around to all your local teachers and schools....home school moms, you sign up too!

Dear Friends,

I am happy to announce that my book The Very Hungry Caterpillar is the official book in Jumpstart's Read for the Record campaign this year.

The goal of this program is to set a Guinness World Record for the number of people reading the same book on the same day to children around the world and to shine the spotlight on the importance of early literacy.

On October 8th, all around the world, more than one million people are expected to read The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I will be appearing on the Today Show in New York to help celebrate. Hopefully a record will be set, bigger than ever before!

Sign up at Jumpstart's web site to read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and be a part of this year's Read for the Record!
