What a DAY!

Cooper officially turned 7 today! &
I want to thank Jessica over at the Russo Corner for letting me design her blog. Of course her elements will be placed in a different arrangement but the image shows what I see on my test blog. http://aimeespersonaltouch.blogspot.com/ The above included a background, header, button and 6 labels for her sidebar and at a steal of a price. I also realize I'm posting this before she even gets a chance to load all her images and HTML codes into her blog. If you are interested in custom blog designs please let me know. I'll give you a run down of prices and you can decide what you need and when. Jessica invested a little at a time but ended up with an elegant look over time. I'm so proud!

OH, before I forget!

Sunday Superheros! or not...

I was busy making these and didn't get to finish.
Superhero Masks.
I cut a basic pattern which can be found online.
I cut it out in one color felt and then sewed it to the "back" felt.
I used embroidery floss and stitched quickly around the outside,
then trimed away the back felt to leave a little smidge extra around the edge.
Then I quickly stitched around the eyes after cutting the holes in the back felt.
I was going to make around 10 of these but my
1 year old, soon to be 2 year old
decided it would be fun to destroy Coopers cake.
Therefore, this is the only pair that was completed with a skinny
elastic band.  Sorry Coopman!
Maybe next year I can complete my efforts.
Love You!

Results of a One Year Old Terror!

Yes, this is my good china. It's old! Imagine my surprise when I found out he'd been pulling them out of the cabinet.
Please take a good look at this picture.
Notice my car keys in the floor.
Notice the glistening floor and the sparkly cabinets
That is simple the result of this...
Notice the steady stream...
Want to know how this happened?
Well!
I kept hearing water cutting on and off and for some reason my brain assumed it was the laundry. Then I started hearing a popping noise in the kitchen.
I thought, it sounded like grease popping and was afraid I'd find something hot.
Nope!
Something wet was what I found and I knew exactly what happened.
Our idiot plumbers first didn't know how to plumb a house.
Then they put the faucet on the side I didn't want it on, the side the children could reach. Then they made the pee trap to long and had to cut a hole in my kitchen ceiling to shorten it, thus the square in the ceiling that is now very visible.
Now!
Is it worth fixing right now?
Should we just wait until our children are grown and then fix it.
For as long as they are little, this will just keep happening.
They splash in the tub, they pour water from containers into the floor, etc
My poor ceiling.

Where have I been?

Many of you know that I took some time away from my blog to do a consignment sale.  So, I thought I'd share some photo's of what that involved.
First we rented a warehouse that we used to house all of our consignors items for one week.  This was a swift consignment sale, no lingering of items for months on end, with consignors wondering if they've sold items.  Then, we put signs out.
Well, we attempted too.  Turns out our city has strict ordinances on signs so as a result we had to put them outside the city limits.  Note to self: next time make sure the signs are allowed.
We bought racks and built them so that we could hang clothing neatly and display items such as shoes and accessories in an orderly manner.
We also took items all week so our selection never looked depleted.
We took large and small toys, play yards, baby gyms, you name it, even beds and strollers and like I said, the stuff kept coming all week.
No other weekly conignment sale that we know of also specializes in junior size clothing.  This was a HUGE hit.  Do you know how many parents brought in their children's expensive clothing to resell?  It's unreal what kids spend on clothing just to out grow.  Also a perfect opportunity to stock up on gently used items in the name brands they love.

Shoes were a big hit, especially girls shoes.  WOW!
Each consignor is responsible for bringing in their items tagged and ready to sell, it was our job to get people there to shop and we felt for our first time, we were a success.  Hopefully, next time will be bigger and better for Kendalls-Kloset.
It's alot of work!
As a matter of fact I think next time I'm going to take a back seat and help with the website, advertising, instead, I'm not sure I can handle doing this again with my 3 kids in tow.  It was good to see familiar faces and meet new ones though.
So that's where I've been for the month of April!

10 pound milestone!

I had to take an official profile picture today.
I've lost 10 pounds!
It just feels so go that the old picture wouldn't do
It's time to celebrate.
That's like 40 sticks of butter people.
10 more will be awesome!
Thanks for all the support!
P.S.  My friend Keri did this to my picture!
Thanks Keri!

Super Hero's Have Birthdays Too!

 This is my hero!

Nothing excites a 7 year old like a wad of $1 bills!

The birthday cake, oh it was so spectacular and then just before the party, my  tiniest hero decided to give it a try, what you don't see is the giant hole on the other side.

Super hero's do protect people!

My tiniest hero is a bulldozer in more than one sense.

Say Cheese!  Really???

This is darling husband who decided his best bet was to not help, I decided it was not his best bet.  Umm going to pay your Lowe's bill during the birthday count down does result in a cake being mutilated.  Thanks!

Super hero with his boots on, how awesome is that?

Almost all the super heros!  P.S.  I made capes for them out of red plastic table clothes...see below!

This is the middle sized superhero of mine.
He's the one with attitude.
Our original plans got rained out so my parents so graciously let us have the party at their house and then the rains disappeared long enough to let them play outside.
Thanks Mom and Dad.
Happy Birthday Cooper!

Yippee!!! I'm finished!

Now that's what I call a Super Hero Cake.
This sucker is bigger than it appears!
My baby is turning 7!

Come on! I'm freakin' out here a little!

Is it the path less taken or the road well traveled?
It seems I've been down it before but it feels completely new to me.  My doctors nurse talked to me today and as I suspected, my A1C was high.  That means my blood sugars have been running high for some time now.  I went through this when I was pregnant but for some reason, it stings more knowing that this is the "normal" me, and not the pregnant me.
The good news is that the medicine they are going to put me on treats PCOS, will help me lose weight and with the proper diet my A1C will be come normal.
The other sad thing is, we need to get groceries but until then, there is NOTHING in the house that looks like something I can eat.  No more boxed dinners, rice, pasta, chinese food, italian, etc.  My favorite is mexican food and believe it or not; it can be made healthy.
Well, I've got a super hero birthday party to plan.  My kids all think they are super hero's so I've got to fix capes, make eye masks and a huge cake.  So just pray Obama doesn't cancel outdoor activities like a moron.  GEEZ!
