Head: Today
I visited a book store that is entirely made up of used books. It's an
awesome place. I had trouble though. I went to the Christianity
section and that all the books were in order by author, no good because
I'm looking for a subject and I don't care about the author. I then
went to the marriage section and found not one book having to do with a
Christian marriage, not good. So, what's a girl to do. I just took my
time and ended up bringing two books home. I ran a hot bath and started
reading. One book was fairly thin and I had thought it would be good
for referencing scriptures. It was okay but then I looked at the
authors bio on the back and wanted to gag. What could this man possibly know
about true love?
Yesterday I wrote on faith and how strong faith is. Faith is something too many of us lack. A while ago I spoke to a dear friend whose mother has been sick and she talked about how much praying she's done and how she just doesn't know what else to say to God and that she just doesn't know what else to do. What I wanted so badly to say was, "My goodness where is your faith?" You only have to ask God one time. He knows your hearts desires and when complete and utter faith is cast at HIS feet, he will work wonders beyond our imagination. He promises to care for us and never leave us, that is the covenant he has made within us. His love is the greatest and in the next few days, we will be working towards understanding why "love" is at the top of the mountain and why it is not part of the foundation.
Heart: No matter our worries, fears, wants or needs; God hears the inner workings of our hearts. I could riddle this post full of explanations and scripture to prove what I'm saying. What I've learned myself is that I have yet to give my whole marriage to God. I'm holding on to so many reigns so that I can control my marriage that I have yet to let go and "Let GOD!".
I don't have the perfect marriage but I believe there is a reason for the struggles I have at this point in my life. God has my marriage in his hands and he is teaching me, he's teaching you through me and we are to do the same for others. The number 13 has a significant importance in my personal life. So, it is no surprise that 1 Corinthians 13:13 has become one of my favorite verses. It means so much in so many ways.
... faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
This
is today's scripture. If you read yesterdays post, you'll know how
significant faith is in our Marriage Mountains but we haven't even begun
to know how significant love is. If Christ loved me and you and every
soul that walked the face of this earth so much as to suffer and die and
rise again for our very salvation so that we could be nearer to God, then
imagine what Love could do in our simple everyday lives.
Hands:
Say "I Love You" as many times today as you can with all your heart and
soul backing the words. I pray that the words that come out of your
mouth are transformed before they reach your husbands ears so that he
hears them in a way that God intends.
