Head: A
book of the Bible that is not mentioned very often is Solomon's Song of
Songs.  Song of Songs celebrates the gift of marital love.  This book
is a storybook romance and steamy dialog between two God-fearing,
passionate lovers.  For this husband and wife, much joy is found in
their private, tender love.  They belong to one another and rejoice in
each other, kissing, caressing and whispering.
Not
only did God create marriage, but the inclusion of this book in His
Word says that our Heavenly Father also rejoices in married love and
wants his people to rejoice as well.
1 Peter 5:14 Says to "Greet one another with a kiss."
Sometimes
how we greet our spouses sets the mood for the time that will be spent
together and you can often tell what type of relationship a couple has
by their greeting.  The Bible mentions greetings many times but there is
one in which the importance of a greeting is stressed by the Apostle
Paul.  He believes it is so important he even lists all of his friends
by name, all 27 of them.
Heart: We
don't often think about our greetings and time spent together.  Do we
greet each other with a smile, are we comfortable talking to each other
in the car or do we take the time to show our love through a phone call
or message?
Song
of Songs demonstrates how important it is to use kind words, a soft
tone, a simple touch, etc.  A loving manner in our greetings to our
husbands could change the whole tone of a day or evening spent
together.  How we greet them when they come home or wake up in the
morning really does tell our spouses a great deal about our love for
them.
Hands:
Think of a way that you would like to greet your husband.  Resolve to
greet your husband in a way that you feel comfortable and show your
enthusiasm for your love for him.  Give him with a smile or hug that he
is your one true love.
Many
waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.  If one were to
give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.
Songs 8:7
You
do not have to greet your spouse with extreme enthusiasm everyday but
resolve in your love to make a simple, lovely greeting a habit.  A warm
greeting that is enthusiastic could warm his heart for a very long time.
God
takes delight in your marriage.  How would your thoughts and actions be
different this week if you fully believed that God loved you?  Do you
think that your husbands thoughts and actions would also be different if
he fully believed in your love?
Place
me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as
strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave.  It burns like
blazing fire, like a mighty flame.  Songs 8:6
