Ready for another idea for your summer arsenal of
fun for the kids?
This is Kristin over at Pajama Momma.
When my kids and I get bored, we pull out our
collection of art books and pick the first thing that we have all the supplies
for.
This week, we dyed paper. Tissue paper,
actually.
Here's all you need:
- a sheet of white tissue paper
- ink, or watered down tempera paint
- brushes
1. Start by cutting a sheet of
tissue paper into 4 squares. Fold square in half 4 times. Paint
with water until it's damp.
2. Paint a band of ink across the
middle. Go over it again until the ink is soaked through the paper.
3. Paint each corner with a second
color-again, making sure the color has gone through the layers.
4. This is the hardest step: Let it
dry completely before unfolding. It's really hard. I know. But it
will rip, and the ink needs to bleed through while it's wet-so try really hard
not to touch it.
Once it is dry and you've opened it
up, you can flick the bristles of a brush dipped in the ink to splatter more
detail. We really liked this effect.
And there you have it! To see

kiddos.
