particular yard sale, I made one stop and it was worth it.
I came home with a vintage Mickey Mouse sprinkler, two pictures, 3 packaged pool floats, an antique chair that matches my antique desk (stay tuned) and the table you see below.
My darling husband had to pick this baby up for me on his way home from work. I paid the sweet lady $10 and left it in good faith. That same day, he drove home and threw it up on my front porch, a little disgusted. I was in love. I thought the table had great lines and even though someone had tried to fix it up, refinish it and left it as it was, I knew it had potential.
It was busted, and falling apart, this table needed some TLC
So, I dug around in our garage this week and found stain...it was perfect. I found polyurethane. Great! I whipped out my sander and went to work. I am no professional. I have friends that are but I don't think I did to bad. The rim around the bottom of the table top needed securing so that all the pieces on the top would be secure. The table was supposed to have a leaf but since it doesn't I secured the sliding track so that it would not open. I just finished my beautiful table.
It's a little rustic with modern lines and it is beautiful. I think anyway. I also doubt my husband will be disgusted now.
Great find! I love the lines of its legs. You did a great job restoring it.
