I just love your free patterns, especially the baby clothes shoes. Can't wait to start sewing. Thank you so much for your generosity.
I am due with baby #2 August 18th...another little girl. At 42 with a 2 and a half year old these babies are miracles and the ultimate adventure and joy in life. I love making heartfelt things for them and fell in love with your baby booties. I have only sewn a few times before, but HAD to make these. The first attempt was the ballerina shoe ( I could not figure out the kimono for the life of me!) It turned out pretty good. (This pattern allows for alot of imperfections so even my uneven stitching and missed spots were covered up in the end...you have so many chances to catch it. What was a little problematic was getting two shoes the same size! I made 4 shoes to get two the same size!!! I finally did it although, the 2 best sewn shoes are a mismatch. Oh well, it has been fun and challenging and I decided to move onto a new material. It is funny how the material speaks to you, if you love it, you love working with it. So I am on to the kimono with my new understanding provided by the ballerina bootie. I also appreciated the revised kimono pattern you posted since you had so many responses. I just finished it...it is adorable but HUGE. I traced the pattern at 100% (our printer is out and was too anxious) I used the 3/16 seam but it turned out so big I think they are more forgiving and a bit cuter in the baby bootie size. How can I make it smaller like 0-3 month or 3-6 month size? (These almost fit my 3 year old.) Any advise would be appreciated.
