DIY Restyled Booster Seat

We really needed 5 seats around our table.  Being that Jake is almost 3 and sits in a booster seat now.  So, I  pulled out this old chair that I never fixed to go with our kitchen table and chairs and fixed it up.  Then, I dug this out...

Yeah, not very impressive huh?  It needed work, so I removed all the hardware and straps, sanded it lightly and gave it a coat of black paint.

Then using the old cover as a guide, I made a new cover and pieced everything back together.  Carefully and replacing a connector to strap the seat to the chair.  I took the plastic buckle off and replaced it with D'Rings since the buckle on the other strap was missing, this worked out perfect.

This time I added vinyl to the chair.  Much better for cleaning up stuck on food and I think any baby sitting in this chair will feel like royalty.

So, whatcha think?

Very cute. I did this a few years ago with a farm table chair for a child. It was really cute. I got rid of it tho because I thought there would be no more kids. Boy was I wrong!

I LOVE your chair idea. You did a fantastic job and now your little one can sit right there at the table beside every one else. GREAT JOB.

Looks great! I wouldn't have thought to paint the booster to look like the chairs--great idea! I can't stand those huge bulky plastic high chairs--seriously? Who wants that taking up a huge corner of the kitchen/dining room??? Yours blends right in! (I'll take it! hehe)
Thanks for visiting my blog!

I hear ya on the girlie thing. With three boys and a husband, I never get to sew girlie things. Finally with the youngest, I've protested and bought a few girlie things for me, like his baby carrier. If ya wanna be worn in the carrier, ya gotta go with the flowers I say! Your chair is really cute!! I'm following you now. I love to sew and you have some great projects!
