Even for just 20 minutes. I like my Pilate's workout videos.
Some are easy and some are hard but at least I feel stretched out and energized. has a 10 Minutes to Beauty Routine
These steps are standard but we all need to be reminded to take care of our hair daily.
This site has step by step instructions at are helpful. Get a GREAT pair of tweezers if you don't have some and get started! Also, check for wild hairs around your chin and neck.
First, start out by filing your nails into a short, slightly rounded shape. Don’t file too short, but do try to get all of your nails a uniform size. Next, put cuticle cream (I really like Lemony Flutter from Lush) on each nail, and gently push the cuticles back. Then wash your hands to get off an lingering cuticle cream - anything left on the nail will make it difficult for nail polish to stick. The last step is to add several coats of nail polish. You can start with a base coat, add a very light color polish, and a top coat, or my preference is to just add strengthener. I absolutely love the strengthener from Sephora by OPI. It has a light beige color, is long lasting, and does make my nails stronger! To maintain your manicure, you should get in the habit of putting cuticle cream on daily (I do it at night), and always make sure that your nails are neatly filed (carry a file with you if your nails tend to break).
Pedicure Benefit: Soothes sore feet, increases circulation, and reduces swelling. At-Home Version: Mix a half cup of brown sugar with a half cup of olive oil in a small bowl. Fill a basin with warm water and one-eighth cup of moisturizing body wash (such as Dove All Day Moisturizing Body Wash or Freeman Bare Foot Softening Foot Soak). Buff-dry heels, tops of toes, corns, and calluses. Clip and file toenails. Gently massage a generous handful of the sugar and oil mixture from the heels to the knees. Submerge feet in the basin and rinse legs; soak for 10 minutes. Dry, then apply a moisturizing foot cream (for extra softening, use one with exfoliating properties, like Philosophy Soul Owner Exfoliating Foot Cream or Bliss Foot Patrol). Push back and clear away excess cuticles. Apply polish. Follow the Pedicure link to more ideas.
Facial Benefit: Remedies the hormonal complexion changes many expectant moms experience, including excessively oily or dry skin as well as melasma -- a dark skin discoloration on the face that's sometimes referred to as the pregnancy mask. At-Home Version: Mix a cup of plain yogurt with the juice of one lemon (for oily skin) or a teaspoon of honey (for dry skin). Apply as a mask; the lactic acid in the yogurt will act as a natural exfoliant. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After being stuck at home with kids that have been sick off and on for 3 weeks, it's time for some serious renewal. I'm sure my husband is tired of looking at me. I didn't even get to go to church Sunday and that's always a good excuse to clean up, shave, even put on a little perfume and feel like a woman in a nice dress or skirt. So, I thought I need a couple of ways to make myself feel better and are quick and easy. I hope you enjoy the ideas. Finding these was much harder than I thought. If you try any of them, shoot me a comment and let me know how you feel! I Loved these steps from all stock images are from check them out. In the Bathroom Step1. Fill the tub. Relaxing in a warm bath is a tradition that goes back as far as the ancient Egyptians. Add bath salts or oils to add an additional layer of pampering to your bath. Step2. Light a candle or two. Bathing by candle light can be very relaxing. Lie back in the warm water and focus on the flickering light of the candles to rid yourself of the stress of your day. Step3. Finish well. Slather yourself with body lotion or oil after your bath to extend the pampering and relaxation through the rest of your day. In the Bedroom Step1 Clean your room. Keeping the surfaces of your dresser and other furniture clear, decreases your stress by removing the clutter that can interrupt your pampering time. Step2. Add embroidered satin pillows stuffed with herbs to your bed. Calming herbs like hops or lavender will help you relax and sleep soundly. Step3. Turn on your music. Play your favorite tunes quietly in the background to create a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. Out in the World Step1. Turn off the phone and spend some time completely alone. Avoid calls, text messages and emails. Use this time to take a few deep breaths and do something you love. Step2., Breathe. Take a deep breath through your nose, hold it for a few seconds and blow it out slowly through your mouth. This fills your body with oxygen, the fuel you need to fight stress. Step3. Exercise. The best antidote to stress is exercise. Spend 20 minute every day walking, running or swimming to enjoy maximum relaxation throughout the rest of the day.

  1. I really need to read this. I think I'll indulge in a pedicure tomorrow before the kids wake up. And, a silk filled herb pillow sounds divine. I was my hair twice a week it really energizes me for the next for days.
