Alright, I'm getting the Halloween Fever. With parties and reasons to dress up in the next few days and into next week, I can't help myself. I'm in the process of making Pumpkin Cupcakes and I'm dying to print out some of these stencils below to carve up our pumpkins. I think next year, I'll grow some gourds for fun. I just can't decide on costumes this year. I have an idea but I don't know if I can excute it as well as I want to. Wish me luck, and enjoy the fun ideas below I found.

I just wish I had a crimper. If anyone has any ideas for what I can use instead, please let me know.

  1. I did not know that you guys did Halloween. I have an preaching tape that you need to listen to on this. I have feeling you would not celebrate it anymore. (???)

    Oh, yea thanks helping mom with some ideas in her sewing studio. She is driving me crazy. Begging me to come in to help. I dont want to. Maybe YOU can go.. (hehe) That is a plan...

  2. "As Christians you and I are placed in this world to be a light in a world of darkness. There is no lasting benefit to ignore a holiday that exists around us, but it also does harm to "celebrate" Halloween as it has originated and grown over the centuries.

    My suggestion? Christians should be teaching their children (age appropriately) that:

    there is a spiritual world filled with goodness from God and evil from Satan (Eph. 2:1-10);
    life with Christ has power over darkness (I John 4:4); and
    those who celebrate Halloween either are unaware of its roots, or are intentionally promoting a world where evil is lauded and viewed as an ultimate power.
    To counter the evil influence of Halloween, we need to join together and celebrate the reality of the heroic efforts of Christian saints over the evil in their day. Many leaders in the past -- and present -- have fulfilled the mandate of destroying the works of the devil through their sacrificial commitment to Christ and His Kingdom.

    Too, rather than “hide” in the face of evil, we should unabashedly and boldly create an alternative that is positive and uplifting; that celebrates good over evil and the triumph of God over Satan. We need to provide an environment that also makes room for heaps of fun while using the day as a “teachable moment” to celebrate God’s protection, provision and purpose for our lives."

    So, if I were "Wicca" I might "celebrate" Halloween.
    I celebrate Jesus! Everyday! I think pumpkins are cute and fun to carve, I think my kids are cute dressed up in something innocent to ask for candy and our outing last night was to church for our drama as a reminder of the evil and temptations that our in our world. Two people were saved! That is what I celebrate and that is what makes my heart sing! So, I've read opinions, heard the sermons and I feel comfortable that when I stand before God I can answer for myself. I actually, can't wait! I grew up going to church every time the doors where open and now that we finally have a church home, we do the same. I don't worship church, I go to church to worship. I feel confident that if God desides to set me straight because I'm wrong, He will.

Show the love. Major love!
