These shoes are so sweet. The reason I'm reposting the information about the
Free Kimono Pattern
is because I've had a few people ask. So, just add yourself as a follower to my blog and then visit the Free Patterns and Tutorials page. I finally broke down and added it. No Strings attached, well maybe a few. Just e-mail me, post a message or send me pictures and let me know you grabbed it.

  63. Thank You so much for your shoe patterns. I have found the Kimono shoe to be a wonderful, and relatively easy project. I am in love with making these shoes. I have also tried your Pleated Ballet (without the pleats) and find this to be a much more difficult project. I am expecting my third baby in about 5 weeks (a girl) and have two young boys at home. I loved your comment about it being a good thing you were given boys as your life would be consumed with "girl projects" - which mine has become, although I am having a wonderful time with them. Once again - Thank You so much. I would upload pics but the files are too big.

  103. I think I'm being a bit of a plank, but here goes :) When do I sew the back of the tops together. Or should I have cut out the top pattern against the fold of the fabric!
Thank you for sharing these little booties.

    ReplyDelete
  104. These shoes are so cute and I was looking forward to making several pairs. However the pattern and instructions are rubbish - I've cut out all the parts and there is no way they will fit together as shown in the drawings. The photos show the tops as one piece - I have 2 pieces based on the pattern. :(

    ReplyDelete
  105. When put together correctly, they make the exact shoes that are shown above. The tops are one piece with a lining. ; )

    ReplyDelete
  106. When do I sew the tops together? Or, as Susie asks below, do we cut the top pattern against the fold? Maybe there's an updated pattern I'm missing?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Love love love these booties. I have a 2 month old girl. They would look awesome on her. Thank you!! Victoriabarnette1@yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  108. Pattern is great, but it seems that the top piece needs to be cut on a fold, this is not made clear in your pattern or instructions, I only realized this was the case after I'd cut my pattern pieces because I looked at the photos at the end of your tutorial.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I came across this issue as well. It is not clear at all in the instructions but it seems the top piece needs to be cut on a fold. You could get around having two pieces by sewing the 2 top pieces (right sides together) along the back seam to create one piece.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I can't seem to download any of your patterns. Are they still available? I get taken to a page that says Homespun Threads and down below "Legal Terms." Does that mean that your patterns are no longer available or should I keep trying?

  125. I am having problems understanding the process of sewing the soles to the tops. I first sewed the outside sole, then tried to sew the inside sole but after you turn the top out of the toe area how do you finish the toe area so the seam is not visible? The instructions are not very clear on this process and it took me awhile to figure out what was being done. I am making the ballerina slippers.

    ReplyDelete
  126. She loved both of the handmade gifts and the shoes fit perfectly. The only thing that I might do differently next time is, adding some elastic to keep the sides together better and keep the girls party shoes from falling off too easily.

And, I didn't know how or where I came across this wonderful pattern. I am finally back to blogging; and, in learning how to set up tabs across the top of my blog, I came back to one of my first posts and there you were! I put a link to your site in my blog, under my Crafts tab. Next I have to learn how to add labels under Crafts (i.e., Babys, Booties...) lucienalta@hotmail.com
